Food is the category of spending that is most likely to be cut. Scanning sale advertising and weekly ads, either in print or online, is the first way that springs to mind. 1) Cut down on waste:

Put the items and dates on the board whenever something new comes in. Remove it off the board once the last of this food has been consumed.
2) Not everything should be purchased organically:
