5 Things You Should Know About Vaping

You’re not the only person who is thinking about quitting smoking. Nearly 75% of those who smoke say they would give up. Quitting smoking can be one of the best decisions you make for your health. Cigarette smoking has a devastating effect on your heart and nearly every organ of your body. Nearly one-third (33%) of deaths from heart disease can be attributed to smoking or secondhand smoke.

You might feel tempted to try electronic cigarettes, also known as vape pens or vape pens, to ease the transition between traditional cigarettes and not smoking. What is the best way to quit smoking cigarettes and vaping? Can e-cigarettes help you stop smoking?

1: Even Though Vaping Is Less Harmful Than Smoking, It Is Still Not Safe

E-cigarettes use nicotine (extracted from the tobacco) and flavorings to create an aerosol, which you inhale. Regular tobacco cigarettes contain nearly 7,000 chemicals, many that are toxic. Expert claims that although we don’t yet know exactly what chemicals are contained in e-cigarettes (or traditional cigarettes), there is almost no doubt that they expose smokers to less harmful chemicals than traditional cigarettes.

The vaping epidemic has caused several lung injuries and even death. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have confirmed 60 deaths from users of e-cigarettes (or vaping, product use-associated lung injury).

These cases are most likely to affect people who have modified their vaping devices and/or use black market liquids. The expert explained that this is especially true for vaping products that contain tetrahydrocannabinol.

The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) has declared vitamin E acetate a chemical of concern in people with EVALI. Vitamin E acetate (a thickening agent used in THC vaping products) was found in all EVALI patients whose lung fluids were examined by CDC.

The CDC recommends:

  • You should not vape or use e-cigarettes with THC.
  • Avoid using family, friends, or internet dealers to get a vaping machine.
  • Do not modify, add or remove any substances from a vaping system that is not specifically intended by the manufacturer.

2: Research Shows That Vaping Is Bad News For Your Heart Health And Lung Function

Nicotine is the primary ingredient in regular cigarettes and e-cigarettes. It is highly addictive. If you do not comply, you may feel the urge to smoke. Toxic substances include nicotine. It increases blood pressure.

Is vaping harmful to your health? Many mysteries are surrounding vaping. For example, what chemicals make up the vapor and how they impact your long-term health. The expert stated that e-cigarettes pose a risk to your health. Emerging data indicates links to asthma. Also, associations between e-cigarettes used in conjunction with smoking with coronary disease. You’re probably exposing yourself to too many chemicals, some of which we don’t even know how to safely use.

3: Traditional Cigarettes Are As Addictive As Electronic Cigarettes

Research shows that regular cigarettes and e-cigarettes contain nicotine. This can make them as addictive as heroin, cocaine, and other drugs. The expert adds that e-cigarette users are more likely to consume e-cigarettes than regular tobacco smokers. Expert suggests you can get extra strength cartridges that contain a higher amount of nicotine or you can increase the e-cigarette’s voltage for a stronger hit.

4: The Best Smoking Cessation Tools Aren’t Electronic Cigarettes

E-cigarettes have been promoted as a way to quit smoking but they have not received approval from the Food and Drug Administration.

In light of the EVALI crisis, the CDC recommends that adult smokers who use e-cigarettes to quit smoking consider other FDA-endorsed smoking cessation options.

5: New Generations Are Getting Hooked On Nicotine

E-cigarettes are more loved by youth than any other type of tobacco product. In 2015, 40% of young users who smoked regular tobacco had never used an e-cigarette.

Expert states that e-cigar

ettes may be especially appealing to teens because of three factors. Many teens believe that vaping has less dangerous than smoking. Second, e-cigarettes can be used at a lower cost per unit than traditional cigarettes.

Adults, as well as youth, find the lack of smoke appealing. E-cigarettes do not have the smell of cigarettes, which reduces the stigma of smoking.
